Enoch

By Zachary Collier

I want to go to a place that I know
Where the city is founded on love;
Where everything’s perfect and laid out in blocks
And governed by angels above.

I want to be where my spirit runs free
And fetters and chains aren’t found;
Where nobody’s captive but Satan himself
And for hundreds of years he’ll be bound.

So, Enoch, come down from where you were taken,
And fall on my neck, my brother;
And we’ll dwell in Zion where the Lamb and the Lion
Lie down and worship together.

I want to live in a place where I give
And it comes back with plenty to spare.
Where everyone’s happy and light never dims,
And we’re freed from sorrows and snares.

I want to run in the light of the sun
With warmth streaming down on my face;
Where feet never stumble and strength never wanes,
And I’m lifted up by God’s grace.

So, Enoch, come down from where you were taken,
And fall on my neck, my brother;
And we’ll dwell in Zion where the Lamb and the Lion
Lie down and worship together.
